You have asked way to broad of an question, this question is in essence the whole focus of epistemology, anyone that provides an answer will not even scrape the surface of this incredibly deep and hotly debated field. If you are asking for your own purposes i would suggest picking up works by Descartes, Locke, Berkeley, Hume, Kant, and Nietzsche to name a few. so sorry but this is just way to complicated for current purposes.

We know things based on experience which gives us learning. And we continuously have to check what we know against new info coming in to correct the bad data we have picked up along the way (of which there is a lot of out there).
The limits of knowledge are determined by the level of knowledge mankind had generated and which advances in an ongoing basis, as well as how fast we can get that info into our heads (always too slow). Thus the %age that our knowledge is of mankind's knowledge is shrinking in an ongoing basis. Mankind's knowledge is growing much faster than anyone's individual knowledge can grow.
And finally, what is 'true' knowledge?

Knowledge, be it true or false, is only resricted by what possesses it. Basically, the memory of a mind, the capacity of a computer, the vastness of a library. Somewhere, something is always happening. This produces a stream of new information ready to be learnt.

There are irrifutable truths that are gifts to us from the Universe, such as mathematics and geometry. We 'know' because we are all of the same stuff (the same stuff as the cosmos). If you closely observe nature, you will learn more of the secrets of the universe that are yet unpublished. This sounds out there, and it is! The Truth really is out there and it is infinite. Only and infinitesimal knowledge we have, there is more yet undiscovered...and no limits.

We know very little, but it seems like allot .. cause it is, but still very little.

There are no limits except truth to true knowledge ... it is not knowledge if it is not true.

With love ..get it I hope;

Through our five senses. We can't know that which is impossible to touch, smell, hear, see, or taste.
