Why the distortion? What could possible be in Antarctica that "they" don't want us to see?

"They" have nothing to do with it. The data base was actually corrupted by space aliens using high-energy magnetic pulses.

this is an error caused by the way the image is encoded. it looks embossed, but it's just a mess up in the image file.
