I didn't get my period back for just over a year after the birth of my son. Don't worry it's all good. I kept nursing my son until he was just over 1 and a half years old, so don't expect that just because you are nursing you won't get your period. If you don't want to get pregnant use contraceptive, I have a friend who didn't have her period for years because she went straight from giving birth to one child to getting pregnant with another without ever seeing her period.
Good luck with it all
Cheers,
Ruby

Yes. I didn't get a period until my daughter was 20 months old and I was nursing (obviously not exclusively at that point). Funny thing was, I got my first period just 2 days after I left her overnight for the first time. Just enjoy the break from the hassle of periods. They'll come back soon enough. It can be normal not to get a period the entire time you're breastfeeding.

My baby is also 11 months old and I have not had a period yet either my doctor told me I was one of the lucky ones lol, you should be on some sort of birth control even though you are nursing, it is only effective for the first 6 months to prevent pregnancy. If you are on birthcontrol and happen to be on depo that could do it also since many women don't have a period when they are on it. To be on the safe side I would get tested w/ your doctor and if you are not pregnant and not on bc, talk w/ him about safe bc options for nursing. Hope I was able to help.

It could be possible to go that long without a period, but it feels like you are playing russian roulette in the birth control department when your cycles have not resumed. I think that most of those tests are pretty accurate. It helps to get the negative answer. Just make an effort to use birth control until your cycles level out. Good Luck!

First, have you seen your obgyn for post partum checkups?
Second...if not, you need to be seen no matter what.
My baby is 10 months old now. I didn't know it, but I had post-partum hypothyroidism....No periods at all, my hair was falling out, I had no energy...a whole list of problems. It is very common for this to happen after pregnancy, but you have to see a doc. Your body can really start having serious problems if you let it go.
Third...Didn't you even bleed when your lochia was coming out? That usually lasts several weeks after you give birth.
Fourth....you normally would start your period a few months after you had your baby, but breastfeeding can prevent that from happening.
Fifth....did you have pre-eclampsia with your pregnancy?
I ask because many women who had preeclampsia had it because of thyroid problems, (again, that hypothyroid).
Good luck, and get yourself to the doc soon!

That is entirely possible and could go on until a couple of months after you stop nursing altogether. Not to say though that you could not get pregnant at this time so make sure to use birth control if you are not trying to get pregnant.

While nursing it is normal--even if nursing only part time. Be on the lookout for your period anytime now but it may take a few months after you stop nursing for it to return. If it doesn't come back by then you dr can give you something to induce a period.

It is completely normal if you are breast feeding even if you are not doing it full time. Lots of women will not get there period until they are completely done with the hole nursing seen.

check with your doctor's office, but yes, women who are nursing don't always get their periods, or if your hormones are off for some other reason...for example, if you gained a lot of weight during your pregnancy, your hormones could be out of balance...i have never been pregnant, but if i get over a certain weight, mine tend to stop or become irregular.

Absolutly, just another perk of breastfeeding. No period and super healthy for baby (even if it is a few times a day).
