The most amazing place in the world. I love it there. I would live there in a heart beat. It was the bottom of an ancient sea. That is where the salt flats come from that are still there. In some places you can still see the ruts from the covered wagons that went through there in the 1800's..very little annual rain fall. And when it does rain, everything turns green and blooms for a few hours, and then immediately dries back up.
I wish I could give you more info. But if you want to read some interesting stuff--Google "Scotty's Castle Death Valley" and "Rhyolite, Nevada "(a ghost town just outside Death Valley).

I guess it was featured on a TV show but I cant remember now. it was said to be a legendary valley, more magical for me. It had been featured as one of the mysteries of the world for in that certain place the gigantic rock lying on it plains move by themselves leaving trail marks reaching to almost 10 meters. Scientits were baffled by this environmental phenomena as could such gigantic rocks move by themselevs when no one could possibly move them because there is no one living there. the plains of the valley was covered in sand so the trails of the rocks are very evident. that's all I know, i wish i helped.
