It wouldn't be the U.S., because the original state demanded that there be a bill of rights or the constitution would not be accepted or ratified, pretty much making there be no U.S.

Depends on what you mean. Each state had a Bill of Rights. A national Bill of Rights was the compromise made between the anti-federalists and federalists during the creation of the Constitution. The anti-federalists wanted a national Bill of Rights b/c it didn't trust a central government. Makes sense when you think of it today.

But, had there not been a national bill of rights, there still would have been a Bill of Rights at the state level. This may have limited the role of the Federal Government as the Supreme Court may have ruled against them more often. But with the federal Bill of Rights, the Federal Government soon gained more power.

I'm sure, it would have been inevitable that we'd get a national bill of rights. It might not have been the 10 we have today, but one would exist.

Well, we would have no legal rights. There would be no laws ensuring our protection under the law, ensuring fair trials, ensuring free speech, ensuring, in general, our freedom. This doesn't mean we wouldn't have these things, just that they wouldn't be guaranteed. The bill of rights basically paved the way for all laws, so we would have no governing system

Without a constitution, the amendments were added to achieve ratification, even so there was opposition.
