I'm tall, and I know I suck at dancing.

So I would wait until I found a good time to tell her when you have a private moment. Then wait for her response.

If she is hurt, explain that you don't want to hurt her feelings, but best friends have to be honest, right? Then offer to help her. Maybe she just needs some coaching to get into the groove.

Or maybe she just has too much arms, legs and no rhythm like I do. In that case, tell her, so that she doesn't find out on her own that you feel embarrassed, but then you got to suck it up if she wants to go out dancing with you anyway. At least having the topic out in the open will allow you to tell her when she is cramping your style and alleviate some of your anxiety.

If she is so humiliated at this news that she just can't stand it, then *sorry* she's got to get a backbone. No time like the present - be nice, encourage her by telling her the things she is good at. Then go out and do those things with her instead of dancing.

Hope this helps.

Why would your girlfriend's actions embarrass you? If she is TRULY your BEST FRIEND, you should love her as she is.

-Perhaps the nice thing to do is not tell her, but buy her a gift certificate to a dance class - hip hop or whatever - and do it with her... That is nice...

Just tell her, geeeeez..Show her how she looks on video..then try to teach her....But it seems like she is just living and having fun in life...you are the the one with the problem..be happy she is out trying and not falling into.."The Cool Crowd"...What would you want her to do?...Sit on the wall and watch you and friends dance and have fun?? You should be ashamed of yourself....Dont worry...Just be happy!!

It doesn't sound like you're that much of a friend if you are more concerned with her embarrassing you than with her having a good time. You should let her be herself and find friends who care about her.

The last thing you need is a fat friend in your life. Just be direct be like "Look chunks, I know you like twinkys, but I like not being ashamed of you. Until you drop 100 pounds, don't bother calling me, cause you embrass me and yourself".

Honesty, shows you care

1st start out by saying that you have something to tell her & that you feel uncomfortable about having to say it, but since you are her friend, you think it's only right that you let her know. Then TELL HER.

Don't go to dances with her. Suggest to do something else. Just don't tell her... it might hurt your friendship.

Just try and teach her how to dance. Don't be too harsh on her.
