Females were expected to act in certain ways, to follow decorum and one of their main goals in life was to get married. You'll notice that the mother is especially worried about getting all of her daughters married off. This is because women who were not of the working class were not supposed to work, therefore they had to rely upon the man their married for support. Taking a look at the different sisters gives you a good idea of how women were expected to act.
Men, I think are a bit harder to touch on. However, taking a look at men of a certain class helps. Mr. Darcy comments to Elizabeth the first time he confesses his love to her about her inferior birth by rank. The same goes for Mr. Bingley who allows his sister and Mr. Darcy to talk him out of continuing his courtship with Jane because of the actions of her family and rank.
I hope this helps! If you need more just contact me.

Think about the title of the book and the two main characters:
Pride: Darcy
Prejudice: Elizabeth
Both are an apt description of each character, but the number of letters in each word and the corresponding name match as well. Austin might be trying to tell you something there.
Might also be a good topic for a paper.

You need to create your own ideas. Personally it wouldn't be yours if anyone directed you . Or its better to do the work so then it will trigger your own ideas. A Topic should be original and that's the part that tells you the most. Kind of like a title to a movie It should create a reacton Go and try it What if no one gives you
any ideas???. What sit there and wait ???? OR get confident and use original topics. Good Luck You can do this

behavioural expectations for each character or general as pertains to the time period?. if your question is asking what are the behaviours they have NOW it would be behaviours that display the following: Self Confidence, acting independent,Anger, Condesention ( Darcy, is acting outside of custom they way he acts at the balls, and speaks about the Bennets) rudeness,Open vulgarity....
Now if it was behaviours they should display in that time period it would be the following;
Modesty, self control, and well bred manners both in speaking and how one held themselves in public.
Hope that helps, although I know it may not make any sense. But see if you can tie a few of these key words to an actual character. if you want to ask your exact question from your assigment maybe I can help better. Feel free to email me, I know that book like the back of my hand!

Women in society were expected to behave properly, with decorum and manners, to blend in and not create a scandal. There were proper standards for dress, hairstyles, traveling, chaperons.
Men were expected to treat ladies like ladies, and behave like gentlemen, but they had more personal freedom. If a man seduced a lady, he was expected to marry her or it would ruin her reputation.
