The owner of Playboy is a woman. Women like Britney/Paris/ Lindsay show private parts to get publicity. Tons of educated rich famous women decide to bare it all in Playboy to get more fame and money. I know a lot of women who use their looks to get ahead, without thinking of how it effects other women who are not good looking.

This is not an anti-woman rant. I just want to understand why women blame men and society at large for problems such as anorexia, bulemia, low self-esteem regarding looks etc...?

Women are far more interested in clothes, make up, fashion magazines, talking about good looking people (at least shows such as the View/Tyra Banks/Oprah...) while men are usually more interested in ESPN, Sports and violence.

So why do women not make an effort to convince other women to behave in a more modest way and to stop checking out clothes and shoes and fashion magazines? Watching CNN will make you confident, but watching Tyra or Oprah will only add to your insecurities.

Hugh Hefner's daughter owns Playboy. Many other such magazines are managed by women.

Maybe it's not men or women that are to blame, maybe it's the media which tell men and women what is beautiful, and we are suckered into buying into it . . . it's all about money I suspect.

Insecurities are normal. In a society where both men and women are consumed by body image and acting and looking acertain way, they are going to occcur no matter what. OK, the Playboy owner is a woman, but what about the men that buy it? Body image issues are not the fault of one sex, but of society as a whole. And, yes to the person who said you can't blame the media, yes you can. The media is composed of people trying to do their job, and their job requires them to do what ever it takes to sell whatever they are advertising or selling. Sex sells. Nobody made it that way, it's just the way society developed.

While women, or men, aren't blameless, you can't ignore the multi billion dollar juggernaut of an 800 pound gorilla we call the media which pushes an 'ideal' image of what we are all supposed to look and act like. Let's not forget the pressure of our society, which buys into the media hype. Men, too, are feeling the pressure with an increase in eating disorders and plastic surgery.

Christie Hefner does not own Playboy, she is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. Playboy is a publicly traded stock, I own one hundred shares.

Insecurities are usual. In a society the place the two women and men are consumed by employing physique photograph and performing and finding acertain way, they are going to occcur no count what. ok, the Playboy proprietor is a female, yet what concerning the adult males that purchase it? physique photograph subject concerns are no longer the fault of one intercourse, yet of society as an entire. And, particular to the guy who mentioned you won't have the ability to blame the media, particular you may. The media is composed of human beings attempting to do their job, and their job demands them to do what ever it takes to sell despite they're merchandising or advertising. intercourse sells. no person made it that way, this is only the way society progressed.

Instead of blaming others for our own insecurities why don't we grow up and start taking some of the responsibilities for ourselves. If you can't look at a fashion magazine and not let it influence you then do yourself a favor and stop buying them. Everyone needs to stop blaming the media and other people for what they do to themselves. Grow up and take some responsibility for your own actions and thoughts.

Yeah, women as a group are the ones who set the standards for their behaviour and the way they appear, and as individuals for their own personal behaviour and appearance. Not wanting to take personal responsibility seems to come with the gender.

BTW the media or any group is composed of men and/or women;i.e. people. Trying to blame them instead of people is nonsense because they are people.

hmm IDK but I'm not into that **** I persoanlly think it a waste of time to put so much time into stuff like that. But I think ur rigth we should stop blaming men it's so not cool they don't have control over what we think so we should just concentrate on bettering ourselves instead of pointing the fingers at others.
