It appears to be a legitimate firing, and not a work (part of the storyline). I wonder if TNA or ROH will try to use him as a booker. The reasons were the lousy rating for December to Dismember and also disgruntled wrestlers. Obviously, McMahon booked a stinker, because the new ECW is more McMahon than Heyman, which is a reason the new ECW is mostly lame, except for CM Punk, who is a saving grace. They should have kept ECW buried, since this WWE version is stinking up the joint. Heyman
is the fall guy for Vince McMahon's horrible booking.

THE WHOLE STORY ON PAUL HEYMAN LEAVING WWE
by Dave Scherer @ 5:41:00 PM on 12/4/2006

As Mike reported a few minutes ago, Paul Heyman is gone from WWE. From talking to a number of people in the company, the impression I received was that Vince McMahon was irate about how awful the PPV was last night and wanted to pin the blame on Heyman for it. Anyone who knows anything about Heyman's booking, as I have for years now, have a pretty good idea that the show was much more McMahon than Heyman. But according to people I spoke with, Heyman got pinned with the blame for it with the theory being that "he is caught in the past and doesn't understand the new vision of ECW". You know, the vision that ends PPVs a half hour early and makes the fans boo what WWE creative books for them.

The problems started yesterday at the ECW PPV when everyone realized that the show really stunk. Heyman was said to be unhappy with the way that the show was booked (big shock right) and sources backstage told me that he voiced that concern both before the show and after it. People at TV told me today that it was obvious that there were issues between Vince McMahon and Heyman because of the how the show played out on pay TV, with everyone knowing it was a disaster. Problems carried over from last night and led to the incidents that happened today.

A number of sources told me that there was a meeting today around two o'clock with Heyman, Vince McMahon and Stephanie McMahon-Levesque at the building. Heyman came out the meeting and seemed like his normal self, with no one I talked to having any idea that something bad had happened. Shortly thereafter, Heyman gathered his things and left the building to go home.

The word going around from everyone I talked to is that this is not a storyline in any way and he is legitimately done with the company.

Damn straight... Vince has no one to blame but himself and the creative staff.

You want to do ECW. You want have it be different than WWE. Oh, wait a minute. Extreme rules matches are a "special" occurance on ECW? More and more WWE wrestlers moving to ECW and taking time away from the ECW people?

If Vince was able to keep that galactic ego in check (yeah, I know) and let Heyman run ECW, it could have found it's own niche knowing it had a year contract on sci fi. Now ECW has essentially turned into WWE lite- a place to move people that they can't fit into/ decide what to do with on RAW or Smackdown. Didn't surprise me at all Lashley going to ECW and all of a sudden winning the title. Vince's hulking mesomorphic love is now complete... Cena, Batista, and Lashley are in the top spots on each show. Sad, sad, sad.

I hope the talk of RVD waiting for his contract to end to bolt to TNA is true. I'd love to see him in the X division. I wonder what CM thinks of all this going on.

Stupid Vince. Yet another example of an exec that can't own up to bad consequences resulting from his decisions.

I guess so, but I hope not. Yeah he's a heel on TV but he's the engine of ECW. The new ECW sucks as it is, and now with Heyman gone...
...well, you do the math.

It sounds like it. It sounds like Vince was mad at him for low DtD ratings, even though ECW is a low budget short show.

Stephanie McMahon is coming back and she HATES Paul Heyman because he won't kiss her ***. He's his own man; I could see him going to TNA; he'd fit in big time.
