Spain came from the word span meaning remote or hidden land. It is quite fitting because Spain stands somewhat apart from the rest of Europe. It has sunny weather and dry climate. Did you know that Spain is the world's largest producer of olives? Spain is also one of the world's most popular tourist destinations.
MADRID is its capital and it lies near the heart of the Iberian Peninsula. It is a modern city & home to 3 million people. The landmmarks are the Plaza Mayor, it is lined by impressive buildings.
BARCELONA, is the 2nd largest city, the chief port and main industrial center. The famous landmark is the Church of the Holy Family. Visit the Sagrada familia in the morning and see its beauty also at night.
Speaking of sports, bullfighting is originally from Spain. The bullfighters show bravery and dignity in the bullfighting ring. They have an annual event every summer.

If you have the opportunity to go to Spain, don't miss it!
Spain is one of the most beautiful places I've seen in my life. Wherever you go you'll find things you can like. This is a place with appeal for older and younger crowds.

The scenery is breathtaking, the history is rich, the food is delicious, the party is absolutely insane and the friendliest and most beautiful people I've been lucky to be at.

I am planning a trip to Valencia in March 2007. Can't ever have enough of it!!

Absolutely! My mom lived there for a couple of years on the south coast and I visited a bunch of times. Seville was lovely, Barcelona was fascinating, we took side trips to Tangiers and Gibraltar. I loved it. Who knows when you'll have another opportunity?

I've also been there twice, once for 5 months while studying abroad. I definitely recommend going. Every city is beautiful and has something different to offer. There are tons of museums, theatres, discos, cafes, in other words, something for everyone. Go.... you won't regret it.
