This my first year out of college and the first time tht I am in a salary position. I know that this company gives bonuses to all employees. I was wondering is there a rule or an unspoken rule as to what I can expect? I would like to buy my family more gifts but I don't want to over extend and oend more than what my budget will allow...bigger bonus more christmas!!!

Thanks

Read your offer letter. If there is no mention of a year end bonus, then you are not eligible for one.

Some corporations have a holiday party, and give gifts to the employees, not always money.

Christmas bonuses can range from nothing to big money. There is no "standard rate", it depends on company policy. You might ask someone who was there last Christmas for an idea of the range, but realize that it can change a lot year to year.

I've seen big companies give small and small companies give big....I'm wondering the same as you this year.
