Getting the best of both world. You learn to be acceptance of other cultures and you tend to be more open to other customs/your cultural awareness is higher....you tend to not to be so self-centered.

different food, music, languages...lots of things.
i love being a first generation American. it allows me to see situations in my life with different angles. having parents from a different culture also helps to keep you grounded as well because, chances are, they learned a lot of hard lessons before emigrating.
you appreciate diversity because you're living in it.
