More than likely so. Why are you doing such a thing and you are pregnant. Poor baby. I'm sorry, but you don't deserve to have your baby, because if you are still using while pregnant, you are going to after you have the baby. How are you going to care for it if you stay messed up all the time. My mother used crack when she was pregnant with my sister. She stopped after she was about 2 months. Thank god nothing is wrong with her, but you know she went straight back to it afterwards and my grandparents and I are raising her. Is that what you want for your child? Sorry to be so blunt, but damn.

Okay, methadone is a painkiller, so if this is something that was prescribed to you and you are taking it like you should be then no, but I highly doubt this is the case.

I think it depends if you are in a rehab program and that is the reason you are taking methadone or if there is a true medical reason as to why you are taking the drug then they may not, the baby may be in the hospital longer because of withdrawl and the baby may have to be on small doses of methadone until they can get them thru the withdrawl symptoms.

Many states require all moms that are admited to have a baby be given a urine or blood drug test if you test positive, you will not be informed until after you give birth. They will call CPS & they will take your baby. Get help now, methadone is becomming a big street drug. So the odds of them testing for it are increased.

Hi,
People are quick to judge and may have come to the wrong conclusions - I imagine you are on methadone as a means of staying away from addicting drugs. Good for you (!) if that is the case. If you are going to a clinic and have a valid prescription you need to tell your doctor (OB-GYN). The dose should most likely be lowered to lessen any risk factors. I went to this site and found some pertinent information on methadone & pregnancy: http://www.statelinemed.com/about_methadone.htm#Pregnancy%20and%20Methadone
You must see a doctor (try Planned Parenthood if you cannot afford one - I imagine they will be able to set you up with a doctor, counselor, and a slew of information.) It is extremely important for your baby's health that you do this immediately. I wish you the best on your journey. Don't go back.

well, here in canada, methadone is prescribed to people trying to kick opiates, even to pregnant women. since it is prescribed by a doctor, no they wouldn't take the baby. As long as all urine tests have come back clean. but again, I am in Canada

Yes and they should. Shame on you for getting pregnant while you're on drugs. Obviously you cannot be responsible with your own body, but yet you feel you can take care of a baby? I have no sympathy for addicts. My fear is for that poor child that will come into this world with 2 strikes against her. It will be 3 strikes if the state doesn't take her. Maybe you should have kept your legs together and worked harder to get off the drugs completely instead of satisfying a 2 minute urge.

It very well could. You should be much more concerned about the fact that your baby is ON DRUGS. The state SHOULD take your baby, if you're on drus and getting pregnant wasn't enough to get you off of them, then somsone else could obviously better care for your baby. God Bless You.

if you have a legitimate prescription for the drug than no they will probably overlook it but then im not 100% sure.
and if i were you i would look up the side effects you are giving your baby and see what is going on.
