I am going to ask for a psp, but i dont know if i am making a good choice. From what i know, the built in memory in the psp is pretty small if you want to do more than just gaming. What is the cheapest memory card that you can buy if you want a good amount of space. Also what is the UMD disk, do you save things on there or what. Thank you for reading this and i hope you answer, i really don't want to waste two hundred dollars on something that i don't like. THANKS!!!

You can get a fairly good sized memory cards (128 MB/ about 40 songs) for 15 bucks. If you don't care for hacking or homebrewing there's still a slew of things you can do with even the reletively small afformentioned memory card such as flash movies and games, mp3's and although it's quite select which you can and can't play (although converters are available) you can watch movies. There's even a handful of downloadable demos. I've also discovered that one can download free video podcasts from iTunes and stick it in there and IT PLAYS.

As for a UMD disc it holds either an album a movie or a game, personally I think the movies are a waste since that if your memory card is big enough (at least 1 GB) you can rip DVDs right to your flash drive.

If you have a wireless internet connection in your (or your neighbor's) home you can also connect to the internet and RSS feeds, these features aren't that incredibly useful since the browser after almost a dozen updates is still finicky. But with the browser you can also read Ebooks (I've got Shakespeare) as long as you spread the text over a couple files first.

The rest is up to you I think the camera and GPS are going to be awesome and there's several exclusive titles that I quite dig, and from my experience the PSP is the most well rounded, intuitive systems ever to hit the market.

You can get a 2GB (about 2,000 MB) on eBay for really cheap. $40. Will hold about 500 songs. UMD's are just the name of the disks that you put in your PSP to play game in.
