futhermore, would you be deterred from buying a product because it implied that you were style-conscious (or metrosexual)?

Some hardcore roughneck "real men" type guys think that there is no such thing as a metrosexual- They think all metrosexuals are just homosexuals pretending to be straight. My family is full of guys like this who think that Brad Pitt and George Clooney are both gay just because they've been called metrosexuals.

Other style-conscious, urban, educated or hip guys consider it a compliment to be called metrosexual.

I think you need to look at your marketing group and decide what the people who you hope will buy your product will think of the term, not just people in general.

Since the dawn of mankind man has been style conscious. From Africans adorning their flesh with paint and beads to get the women to Romans bathing in olive oil. There is no such thing as metrosexual. A man should dress well.

Most guys I know find it offensive and treat it as if someone just called them 'gay'. They don't get angry but they view it as a dumb joke. I can't answer that second question though since I'm female and the metrosexual thing is not a problem for me.

This term is like so many others- a person can call themselves metrosexual but if you were to call someone metrosexual it could be offensive.

No way. Metrosexual is a compliment. They're well groomed, like to shop, what more could a woman want?

SOMEWHAT
I THINK THT WHEN A GUY IS CALLED A METRO THEY KINDA THINK THEY HAVE A FEMENINE OR SYLISH SENCE 2 THEMSELVES(NOT GAY!)
FOR EXAMPLE, DAVID BECKHAM(OH SO GORGEOUS) IS A METRO AND HE KNOWS IT.
YEAH BUT I WERE A GUY, THE TERM METRO WOULD BE ON MY MIND IF I WAS CALLED 1

I don't think so. Some men get offended, because they think it's "gay". Then they are homophobic aren't they? And I guess they are more comfortable being known as such.
So silly.
