Yes, I do know the baby is alive and well, the dr said it sounds very healthy, but I didn't mention not feeling it to her because I wasn't sure if it was normal or not. And YES, this is my first pregnancy

Not to worry hun, it still may be too early to feel your baby move. Feeling this baby grow inside of you is an amazing thing!! Feeling this baby move for the first time is probably one of the most amazing things that a mother will ever feel!! This is called the quickening. This usually occurs during the second trimester, although, not always. Some have compared the feeling of a quickening to the feeling of gas. It didn’t feel like this to me, it was not painful. You will know it when it happens. With my firstborn, the quickening was normal, in the middle of the second trimester. With my second, my son, it was late. I wondered if it was ever going to happen! His quickening didn’t come till about the 6th month, but then he never stopped moving after that. With my third, however, her quickening was in the first week of my third month. So early that the doctor rushed me to have a sonogram to make sure I wasn’t farther along than we thought. Nope, she just wanted to make her presence known as soon as possible! (I am in the process of writting a pregnancy book, I will be posting parts of it on my blog if you wanna check it out at:(http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fus... In my book I discuss many things that doctors neglect to cover with expectant mothers. Hope some of that info is helpful!) If you wanna know more just about movement of your baby, email me and i can send some more info to you.

Don't panic...most resources say you will feel your first movement between 16 and 20 weeks, but remember that every pregnancy is different. I started feeling the first movements around 17 weeks, but you have to be really tuned in to feel much at that point. As someone above mentioned, it just felt like gas. If you are concerned, always talk to the doctor, but I wouldn't worry. By 27 weeks (where I am now) you're likely to be sick of all the movements! Enjoy the peace and quiet while you can!

I didn't feel any movement until I was 20 weeks and I am now 26 weeks and I have a perfectly healthy baby. This is my first pregnancy and I guess for some women it just takes longer to feel the baby move.

I first KNEW it was the baby moving at almost 19 weeks, before then I really thought it was just gas. Depending on your weight and your structure, if the baby has lots of room in there, and you are on the thicker side, you might not feel it, or the movements aren't strong enough yet. If you worry, try drinking some orange juice and lay on your right side, if you really pay attention you might feel a slight twinge.

OMG Proud to be blonde, thats just so wrong. Look, every pregnancy is different. I didnt feel nothing until I was almost 20 weeks along. If you are worried, call your doctor. Dont worry, you heard your baby's heart beat, your fine, God Bless.

Don't feel bad. With my first pregnancy, I didn't feel my son move until I was close to 6-months pregnant. What I did feel (and would learn later on that it was my son) was what felt like gas bubbles in my tummy. Or like my stomach was turning. If you're still worried, do say something to your doctor. There's no such thing as a stupid question when you're pregnant and concerned!

It's natural not to feel your baby move till about 20 weeks for your first pregnancy and about 18 weeks for consecutive pregnancies..
Don't worry too much..

I didn't really start feeling my baby move until I was about 22wks and even then the movement was not consistant. I was stressed out because of the same reason people kept asking me if I could feel him and I couldn't I am 24wks and he is still not moving around a lot but he is moving more!

Actually, most moms, especially with first pregnancies, don't feel the baby until 20 weeks, or even later. Nothing to worry about.
