I find the best names for characters have something to them. You know, like Luke Skywalker (travels the skys), Hans Solo (A loner) Jack Sparrow (small, flighty, and insignificant)

They don't have to be that obvious though. The last names of Buffy Summers (Warm and cheerful), Dr. Jack Shepard (Caring, leader) and James Bond (loyal, together) have only slight connotations that reflect their character.

Sometimes writers will choose a name that contrasts their character (like naming a character who can't sit still Mr. Idlewild), others like to use the name to hint at something that creates a connotation in the readers mind (think about how Darth Vader sounds like Dark Invader...something scary) and still others want to give you a clue (like the boy in Sixth Sense last name was sear (as in "see-er of dead people") and the Doctor was Dr. Crowe (as in as in the myth that crows carry souls between this life and next)

The point is, naming characters is something that a writer usually spends some time on, and chooses for a reason. Many times only the writer knows the reason, but there usually is one. Without knowing the character, its hard to make a recomendation.

What I do is go to http://www.20000-names.com/ and type in a characteristic of the character and see what names comes up. You can even choose names based on language so if you want Greek names that have to do with truth, you can find one.

Kihara and Karah are too similar. Readers are likely to get them mixed up.

As a rule of thumb, if you have an unusual or multisyllabic first name, you should have a fairly simple last name. And vice versa.
