If there were two candidates for the presidency (or anything, I suppose) who shared your political beliefs equally, would you vote for a black man or a white woman?

I would not personally vote for a president simply because of their gender or race, as I'm sure none of you would, I'm just curious who would do better in an election (if this was the only deciding factor) as we have had neither in our white house.

If both candidates shared my views equally, there is only one factor of difference (as trivial as it is) that could cause me to avert the proverbial "toss a coin".

You didn't mention age, but assuming this as a factor, the black man would not be affected by physical distresses caused by menopause or menstruation.

I vote black man.

But the chances of candidates sharing my views equally is virtually impossible. The one closest to my beliefs gains my vote regardless of gender or ethnicity.

Lets call are next president the peoples party. It will be a virtual reality person. like an avatar. We will take a vote and choose whether it is male or female then name it. Then we control the president. People of America will make choices. And yes it will be part of the republic. Because the president will have to do what the people want. Not do what the president wants and the people must take in the ear.

There would have to be a defining thought or idea to make the decision logical if, you were not racist or chauvinist.

My decision would be based on experiences, type of office held prior, wit, how they campaigned and character.

Whether it was a black man or white woman wouldn't make much difference to me. I do however, feel the choices you offered would make for a long needed change in American politics.

I do not think Americans are ready for change at this point. As long as we continue to re-elect old war horses that think the same way year in and year out this country will not see much difference in the political landscape.

Good question, tried to answer with out thinking about Obama or Hillary.

No two opposing presidential candidates will have the exact same political beliefs.
And I have yet to see any political candidate who shares my beliefs 100%
Id be happy to see a black man or a white woman in office, if I believed they could do the job well.

If I had to make a prediction, I think we will see a black man in office before a woman.

Why should that matter? Shouldn't votes be based on where they stand on issues our country faces and not race or gender? If they both shared the same beliefs, then who would be a stronger leader for this country? That is who should be voted for.

This is a rather stupid question. Nevertheless one could vote for the woman knowing that they laid off on their right to vote for the abolitionist movement -- or then again vote for the black man knowing he has had the right to vote longer. I personally would vote for an asiatic or hispanic transsexual if they had half a brain.

That's a flawed question because no party will ever truly stand for the American people....

But...I would have to say a black man...I think that he would be stronger and less "sensitive"...we don't need someone who is all worried about warm fuzzy feelings running our country.
