Big Bens been doing pretty bad this year. He already has 20 ints this season! However, I think that the reason why Ben is sucking right now is the disunity of the Steelers. They arent playing with intesity!

Big Ben is having a tough year, but he is hopefully learning a lot for a great 2008. He did nothing but win his 1st couple of seasons, so he needed to come down to earth, I believe he will work hard in the off season. Lets not forget this guy had a terrible accident what about 7 months ago now, andhe had surgery in week 1. on a scale of 1-10 I would give him a 6 this year,
fans and TV guys need to just calm down an dstop saying put Batch in, he has played well this year, but the future is Big Ben, and he needs to play through the tough times to be better, Bradshaw did win 4 Super Bowl his first 4 years, he made mistake, grew and the team became great, I just hope they keep a good core of players....they need better DBs, and for the first time they need to draft some OL to open some holes for the run.

I think Ben should have taken a couple of games off and let Charlie Batch play. Nobody would have thought he was less of a man for sitting out after getting his face through a windshield. The guy pushed too hard to get in the game and it hurt his team. There is no way he could have been in game shape and he let his personal needs get in the way of team success. I'm sure he is not the only reason the team is not winning, but he is a big part. He built his reputation on being a good decision maker and winning games by being consistent and managing a game. This season he has been inconsistent and making poor decisions, presumably because he has never had a chance to get in 100% condition.

Yes, Ben has had a down year, but all this "Bench Ben, go to Batch" or "Ben sucks, product of the system" crap should stop. The most ridiculous statement is that Ben is the next Kurt Warner...Give me a break. My guess is that a majority of these haters are only seeing what Sportscenter shows them, and basing their judgements on that. People who actually have seen Steeler games have a better perspective.
I do agree with the fact that the offensive line play has been shaky at best. It's either been feast or famine up front. One week they are opening holes for the run game and giving Ben time to find his receivers, the next they are giving up 9 sacks. The line had great games against KC, New Orleans, and Atlanta, and horrible ones against the Raiders, Broncos, and Ravens. Look at Ben's numbers in all those games and you'll see the effect that had. In addition, Cedrick Wilson isn't quite the answer as a #2 receiver. The Steelers haven't really had anyone be able to stretch the field the way Burress did in Bens rookie year, and Randle El did last year. Nate Washington has shown the ability to do that, but hasn't been able to hang on to the ball. Santonio Holmes should be able to do it too, but hasnt had quite that many opportunities outside of garbage time. the receivers have had way too many drops this year, including some tips that have gone for interceptions, so while the INT numbers look bad, they're not all on Ben.
I dont know what's happened to Ken Whisenhunt, the offensive coordinator, but the play calling has been much worse this year than it was last year. My only guess is that they have no one else to run the trick plays the way El did, but the offensise seems to have gotten way too predictable. When the Defense knows whats coming, its hard to execute. Coming into the season I expected Heath Miller to break out, but they seem to look to him less than last year, which wasnt much.
I'm interested to see if Washington or Holmes step it up tomorrow as they both will start in place of the injured Ward and Wilson.
Ben is fine, and I think that coming down the stretch, and into next season we'll start to see the Roethlisberger of '04 and '05. The problems with Pittsburgh this season have run deeper than just the QB position.

i think vincenzo445 is 100% right. it's been a tough year for ben, but it's also been a tough year for the team as a whole. People seem to forget that our defense isn't performing as well as the past, the offensive line hasn't been giving ben enough time to throw, special teams needs help, and the receivers have boggled some good passes and turned those into ints. anyway my point is ben has shown a spark, we saw it in the 4th quarter against cleveland, he played well against atlanta, and he did good last week, next year when there are no more health issues surrounding him, or the rest of the team for that matter, the steelers will do very well.

Big Ben hasn't been doing so well this season, but you can't put it all on his shoulders. The offensive line is not that great at leaving him room to work with. He may not be doing so well as he was before, but everyone else could be doing a better job as well. They certainly have some room for improvement...

The Steelers made a mistake picking him in the draft he hasn`t done anything impressive on the feild I know he has a ring but his team won that for him and the truth is the Steelers got the better QB sittng on the bench they need to whip up a Batch of that good stuff
