Um, ok, just FYI, the Bill of Rights is a single document which contains the first 10 AMENDMENTS to the US Constitution. I'm pretty sure that Amendments is the word you were searching for, since there is not much controversy over which Bill of Rights is the most important.

The most important amendment is the first, promising freedom of speech, religion, and the press, and the right to assemble and petition. Free speech is unquestionably the most "American" of all our rights - and the one that most sets us apart from other nations. In England, which is widely viewed as the next best thing after the US and Canada, you can be arrested for "racially abusing" someone. That means calling them a racial epithet. So presumably going to King's Crossing in London and yelling, "I hate Limeys!" would get you some pretty serious jail time, what with all the Limeys at Kings Crossing that you'd be racially abusing.
Anyway, after that I'd say the Fourth and the Tenth. The Fourth (illegal search and seizure) is becoming more important now, as the Privacy debate heats up. And the Tenth states that any authority not granted to the Federal government BY THE CONSTITUTION belongs to the states and to the people. Which means that the government can't give itself new powers. There's no way the Union would have survived the past 2 centuries if any sitting president could start writing new executive powers whenever he felt like it.
The current sitting president excluded, of course - it's okay to violate the Constution if you do it during wartime.

(1) The First Amendment spells out freedom of speech, freedom of the press, right peaceably to assemble and to petition for a redress of grievances. If you do not have these, you cannot either exercise or check and balance any forms of government or due process which require speaking, writing, petitioning and assembly. So all the other laws involve the exercise of the natural rights and freedoms summarized in the First Amendment. (2) Many people would advocate for the Second Amendment, or the right of citizens to armed defense against militant conflict or attack. (3) After that, I would probably say the Sixth Amendment right to due process, because otherwise judicial proceedings can be corrupted without adequate defense of individuals. If you had the choice to go beyond the Bill of Rights, I would have mentioned the Fourteenth Amendment, since that is used to make all the other rights apply to all levels of government.

There is only ONE Bill of Rights and it contains the first 10 Amendments to the Constitution of the United States.

The most important is the second, because if the people cannot arm themselves, then all of their other rights can be taken away without resistance.

Best Wishes,

Sue

dont care about the 10 points, the bill of rights is a joke. we live in a police state, if you havent noticed. we really have no rights. the government can take away anything from us at anytime for no apparent reason. we can be questioned on the street, because we look suspicious. if we dont have a picture i.d., we can be put in jail. our cars and homes can be searched on a whim. if we dont answer the door, it will be broken down, maybe because the police got the wrong address or information. theres your bill of rights.

the most important point is reminding folks what we have in the bill of rights ... compared to what others don't have -- despite the disgruntles who may not appreciate their rights
