yes; because otherwise how would you know what bad was, if you couldn't tell in the first place. the flaw with that logic (assuming the answer is no to your question) is that you wouldn't be able to tell what bad was either. part of it of course is societal conditioning and part is instinct (i.e. burning your hand is not good).

so my answer is yes, you could tell even if you hadn't experienced the bad, unless it was a convention of society that is only bad because society says so.

Yes. If you are raised by loving and nurturing parents, (which excludes about half of us), then you learn to respect yourself and others...With this respect you won't allow the bad in your life, hence you probably will get good....Listening to your elders is also a good way to learn. They have been there......But unfortunately some bad comes into every ones life......How you deal with it is the question....Again respect yourself. Know what you will put up with and what you won't....Feel the bad, acknowledge it, and get on with life. I think the problem arises when we stay in the bad too long....Ifs there is a bad you cannot escape (like a car accident where you are hurt) then you must try to find the good in your life and concentrate on that......Also comparing your bad to other peoples bad will sometimes show you that your bad is not so bad......Yes, some things are truely good and they are easy to spot, some things you really have to know or study to determine their goodness. Hope this helps.....

Absolutely not. In order for the balance to be maintained there must be the "good" and the "bad." Our perception of "good" stems from our perception of "bad." When we label something as bad we instantly start thinking of a way to get rid of it...when we do, then we find happiness. Or so we think.

Whack yourself on the foot with a hammer, that's bad.
