i don't understand why the democrats do not favor john bolton. he has, time and time again, excellently represented US desires at the UN, and has pressed the issues of Iran and North Korea when others would have backed off. Why do the dems not want bolton for the job of UN ambassador?

They do not like strong men, with self confidence and balls to stand up for what is right.
They want a weak kneed, "sensitive" ambassador who will hold hands with genocidal maniacs and sing "Kum-by-ya".

Bolton has said that he would abolish the UN Reminds me of the old line

It has been said Bolton is outspoken, like MR Bush, tends to gain opposition instead of cooperation. Republicans didn't want him in the UN either they failed to approve a comfirmation of his appointment
