I bought a variety of them in small plastic pots (1.5 inch high) from the nursery (warm and shady) and placed them in my office (airconditioned with 9-5 lighting). Like cactus they don't need much water and the lady only said a teaspoon of water once a week and they'll be happy but mine just grew upwards!!

Help, I just want them to be small and cute..

Those are those cute little cactus things outside my aunt's house. I'm not sure, but did you put in heavy fertilizer? Is the humus really humid!

"although they do better with regular deep watering and fertilizing" from Wikipedia. Is one teaspoon of water too much? I dunno. See what happens :)

Are they possibly sending up flower stem?. They must like it where you have them. I would be hard to keep them down if they are not being small and cute as you prefer. If you see that they are flowering, you can cut those off after they finish and they will be small and cute again, unless they keep blooming. If you really don't like them give them to somone who does and start over with tiny stuff.
