I think it sounds like a great gift! Honestly, I prefer getting smaller stuff of which I will definitely be able to use most or all of it (like food gifts) as opposed to getting decorative stuff, appliances, etc.. I give this kind of thing a lot as I tend to buy neat stuff I find during the year and finish it off at Christmas.

I think it sounds like a great gift, except for the tangerines. :-p How about something like a hot chocolate packet?
Even better, you could bake some cookies and include that. You could make some shortbread cookies if you want something that's quick and cheap to make... scottish shortbread cookies just take butter, sugar, flour, a pinch of salt, and some vanilla extract (optional). You can find the recipe on allrecipes.com.

I would love this gift -- one year I gave everyone bean soup in a jar -- different kinds and colors of dry beans, seasoning mix (dried onion, parsley flakes, spices) in a small baggie, small pasta (ditalini or stars) in another small baggie. Use a canning jar with a 2 piece lid: put the flat lid on and cut a pretty piece of material and put on next, then the ring. Tie the cooking instructions printed on a note card. Everyone said they liked it and they all made the soup!
I love homemade gifts!!
Merry Christmas!!!

merry xmas to you too!
I think it's very lovely. Don't worry that you cannot buy pricy stuff. I, most of the time, impress gifts that I know people put some effords into it, because it really means they spend some times to put together the gift just for you.
I love your idea. I think everybody in your family will definitely love their xmas gifts this year.

I think that what you put in them are plenty..I would be happy with a gift of even less than that..how about personalizing them for what each person likes (or are they already all not exactly the same?)..anyways that's my honest opinion...Merry Christmas to you and yours and peace be with you..
