Since 14 I have had a very hairy neck, back then my father made me go to the hairdresser/barber about once every 3 weeks to get that hair cut, my neck hair grew faster than my head hair. However since I was about 20 the times I go to get it cut vary from once a fortnight to once every 2 months, it depends in the mood I am in. Sometimes the thick neck hair does annoy me and I will myself shave it off once a week, other times I just let it grow out until the next time I go for a hair cut. One of the interesting things I just discover not so long ago was that my thick neck hair 'streams' down over my shoulders, I always wonderd why I had such hairy shoulders, its because the neck hair comes down over the shoulders rather than my chest hair going up the way. Its like having a beard, some men shave part of it off and others just let it grow out wild and natural. At the moment I am in one of my "just let my neck hair grow until the next time I go to the hairdresser moods" I am also experimenting in only shaving my face once a week or less, I have a quick growth and my little beard and unshaved neck hair sort of merge into each other making me look "wild and hairy" to say the least, I don't mind, however, through time I might go back to the 'well groomed' man look and shave my face every day and the back of my neck every week, I'll just see what happens, it varies a lot in the mood I am in. The question is about why the back of your neck is so hairy?, like me its due to genetics , just try and get used to it, I admit it has in the past been irritating especially during warm weather, not so bad in the colder weather, but if it does annoy you, go to the hairdresser or try and shave it yourself with a razor or a battery shaver.

Don't worry, some people just have more hair than others. But the more you shave it, the faster it will grow. It also might be that you have a lower hairline at the back. I'm a female and I've always had that problem. I can't where a really short hairdo. So think about letting your hair grow longer in the back. Then no one will notice. Plus they will think you are hip. As far as the other guys you see, they probably have to go through the same thing you do to look clean and cut.

That happens ... some guys are more hairy than others .. if the back of your neck is hairy, then you will probably have a lot of hair on your chest .. and yes, as you grow older - a lot on you back. Grrr, I know it is frustrating.

someday the girls above will have boyfriends who have been through puberty. I think the V-neck with no undershirt is kinda Disco-y. I sometimes wear a button-up shirt with 2 buttons unbuttoned, and I notice women checking out the chest hair. (Sometime it's difficult to be so good looking.)

Because everybody is different.
Don't worry about it. You do what you have to do to look handsome. That's all that matters.
