be ashamed of having a common blood type? I have a common blood type and just thinking about it makes me want to bow my head in shame. I know that it has nothing to do with anything, and all of that, but still- its a common blood type. If someone asked me my blood type I wouldn't want to tell them.

Again, I know it doesn't matter. Also, I know if you have a rare type you're more likely to die- I'd still want a rare blood type.

does it even matter what type of blood you have? i mean its not like if its going to change your personality or your life, or anything.
and plus, bet if you don't like haveing a 'common' blood type, you won't be much happier with having a 'rare' blood type.

I don't think you should be ashamed at all! You have the potential to save many, many lives with your blood if you'd only donate it. That also means if for whatever reason YOU need a blood transfusion, there'll be lots of blood for you, and they won't need to run around looking for a donor for you. It's silly to be ashamed of something you can't do anything about.

if you have an extremely uncommon blood type and you need a transfusion, you'll probably die before someone can donate

I have O-, not the rarest, but close to it. I don't feel ashamed by that.
