>>Mauna Loa in Hawaii is the biggest which total mass is 9,700 cubic miles/40,000 cu km of mountain. It is a shield volcano with gently sloping sides which has the greatest volume of any volcano.
>>Mauna Kea, a neighbor of Mauna Loa on the same island of Hawaii, is actually the tallest mountain in the world based on measurement from its base. Mauna Kea is about 350 ft/107m taller than Mauna Loa, but its mass doesn't compare to that of Mauna Loa. Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea rise 30,000 feet (10 km) from the sea floor.
>> If we say tallest mountain on the aspect of land elevation, then Mt. Everest is the highest mountain in the world. Measurementwise regardless of their location, Mauna Kea is taller than Mt. Everest.☺

Mount Everest is often called the biggest mountain in the world. While it is true that the peak of Mount Everest is the highest point above sealevel in the world, Mount Everest is not the biggest mountain in the world. That title goes to Mauna Loa, one of the mountains that make up the island of Hawaii. The majority of this mountain is below the water, and so hidden from view. Mauna Loa takes up a massive 9,700 cubic miles/40,000 cubic kilometers. It got this way because it is a volcano, and so gradually built up its size over the years.

Biggest mass.
Mauna Loa is an active shield volcano in the Hawaiian Islands, one of five volcanoes that form the Island of Hawaii. It is Earth's largest mountain, with a volume estimated at approximately 18,000 cubic miles (75,000 km³), although its peak is about 36 m (120 ft) lower than that of its neighbor, Mauna Kea. In Hawaiian, mauna loa means "long mountain". Lava eruptions from Mauna Loa are very fluid, and the volcano has extremely shallow slopes as a result.
