YPN! Vs. Google Adsense?

Question

OK!!! I have just applied for YPN. But I have also applied before and did not recieve a response from them. Is there anyone that has YPN account? How long did it take them to contact you? And who is better

Yahoo Publisher Network or

Google Adsense!

and does this site meet the requirements?

I first joined YPN when it first opened its doors to the public. I got a reply within 24 hours that my site was accepted.

Which is better? It depends on the type of website you have.

The thing with my site is that Adsense is doing EXCEPTIONALLY well --with very high effective CPM (ECPM) and double digit click through rates. As a result, income is great.

I first experimented with YPN on a new site I have. I served Adsense and YPN alternately (it is against the TOS to have them show up at the same time on the same page). Giving both equal weights, YPN and Adsense have the same impressions.

But Adsense revenues was 5x that of YPN. Targeting with Adsense was better, ads were more relevant, and I presume that ads were higher paying than YPN. I dumped YPN and used Adsense exclusively.

If you get accepted, you can try it out for yourself and see how both performs on your site. Your mileage may vary.

As for your site whether it is acceptable to YPN or not, only YPN can tell. So just wait until they respond. If not, then apply again. Be sure though that you have the tax information they need.

YPN tends to pay better than AdSense, but the click-thru rate will more than likely be lower. If you have already applied for the YPN beta, just sit back and forget about it for a while. When I first applied with my site it took more than 3 months for them to reply with my access codes to sign up. Honestly, AdSense is a better product at this point, but you can earn more money from YPN if you get lucky. The ad inventory that AdSense has is much larger than that of YPN, and because of this the ads that you will see on your website when using AdSense are going to be targetted much better than those you will see while using YPN.
