Ha ha, you're funny! lol! But still a valid question. What made you press the remote at your head in the first place?
Infra red rays do bounce off of other things. You sound like you have an inquiring mind, ever considered becoming a scientist?

infra red bounces off stuff. any kind of stuff. the original wireless network used infra red bouncing off an office ceiling. slow, but it worked pretty good. your eyes are rather reflective. that's probably what was getting it to the tv.
