Although it has a touch of Romance to the "O'Malley" Series is a very good serious. The books include: "Danger in the Shadows", "The Negotiator", "The Guardian", "The Truth Seeker", "The Protector", and "The Healer". These books are very good Acton/Adventure books with just a hint of Romance to tie it all together.

Hm.. you might like "And then you die" unfortunately I don't remember the author's name, but.. it's a good romance/semi-action?

It's pretty cool I guess.

I would reccomend even though you probably won't be interested in the topic, is "Twilight" by Stephanie Meyer, it's about Vampires but it's REALLY good. She's also got a sequel called "New Moon". You might want to read a summary from barnes and noble.

Good luck trying to find an awesome book to read! :]

The Demonata series by I think Darren Shan. It's nice and gorry-ish and if you're thinking girlyish then Meg Cabot is pretty okay.
