If you can, please tell me how you got the answer (show the math)..
Also, if you know any websites that explain and show the math work, please link it.
Thanks!

Light speed ina vacuum is 299792458 m/s. There are 31556925 seconds in a year. Multiply both values together, and you have the distance travelled in one year.
299792458 * 31556925 = 9460528112671650 m.

However, the light year uses the Julian year which is exactly 365.25 days. With this year definition, the light year is 9460730472580.8 km, according to the provided link.

Equates to 9,590,460,223,049 miles.
IN ONE YEAR.
9 trillion, 590 billion, 460 million, 223 thousand, 49 miles.

1 year=365 days=8760 hours=31536000 seconds so should be 3 x 10^8 x 31536000 meters so 94608000 x 10^8 meters= 5.913 x 10^15 miles

LIGHT TRAVEL AT 186,000 MILES PER SEC.
MULT THIS X SEC 60 X MIN X HR X 24 HR DAY X 365 YR

Well, the speed of light is 186,000 miles per second. To convert that to MPH, you will multiply 186k by 3600 (60 times 60). The answer is very big, 669,600,000 mph.
To give you a picture, the circumference of the planet is 24,901.55 miles. So, it'll take light about one second to go around the world seven times.
Hey, it the fastest thing in the world, I sometimes believe that's the speed of time, after all. It takes light about six hours to get to Pluto. So, when you look at it through a telescope, you're looking about six hours into the past!

speed of light = 3 times 10^8 m/s. So all you hafta do is multiply that by 60 then to get m/minute, then multiple that again by 60 to get m/hour then again by 24 to get m/days then again by 365 to get years. Then you probably want to change meters to kilometers so divide your answer by 1000

It is approx. 6,000,000,000,000 miles. Take the no. of seconds in a minute times the no. of minutes in an hr. times the no. of hours in a day times the no. of days in a year times the speed of light which is 186,000 miles per second.

Here is a good website for that information, including some of the harder concepts (namely the relativistic nature of Lightspeed).
