they work them out alot. when you hit the ball you get alot of power from your lower body. the stronger your legs the more power. upper body strength helps but you need the both for optimum power.

Baseball Players are lean for the most part. But like that other person said, They have to have strong legs to get optimum power while swinging the bat.
Pitchers also use their legs more then their arms for power. The great power pitchers like Ryan and Clemens usually ride a bike before AND after a game as well as do some pretty crazy squats durring the spring training and off season.

I know, don't they look nice in their uniforms too? I just love the way their bubble butts respond to that material when they do their squats! I really like to watch them practice as well. They really look so fine out there in all their masculinity and rough nature! Oh my, gotta run! Thanks for the observation honey!
