I think it's okay for anyone who enjoy's the music to like them. I'm black and I don't care for them too much. Maybe cause of my age but still if you like them then it's not a problem.

Yes it's ok. I think your friend is being a jerk. If your friend feels that strongly about you not listening to Black music, then he shouldn't be your friend anymore.
