This year, my bf and I decided to give each other homemade gifts instead of spending money since we just bought a house.

Well, you and your boyfriend are 'active', you could try interesting naughty coupons. Don't be afraid to get a little kinky! ^_^
Or you could go the more traditional route and do really helpful cute ones. Coupons for back and foot massages, watch whatever movie he wants to watch, you cook whatever he wants to eat one night, breakfast in bed, and my boyfriend's personal favorite, "Instant Argument Win" (unless it something really important, I surrender my side of the fight)

make coupons for back rubs, special meals of his choice, for a free day to do whatever he wants to do.
if he does certain chores around the house make coupons for those chores too.
a coupon to wash his car.

this is a great idea i did this for my son last year and will be doing it again this year...
some ideas for that significant other:
massage
foot rub
cook him a romantic dinner
cook him a manly meal ( my husband loves when i do this..lol)
wash his car
lawn mowing
let him watch his fave sport without complaining (all males will love this one)
bubblebath and candles night
handcuff and scarfs night ( for the adventurous ones)
think about what he complains about doing (eg chores etc) and build from there

wash his car. private bath ---candles bubbles you soaping him up. Give up the remote for an entire day. take out the trash. a section on different "activities" you get get to perform on or for him.
