How old is she and how many teeth? My second daughter LOVED to eat whatever we were eating but didnt have that many teeth so i just mashed it for her. She frowned on baby food and isnt nearly as picky as her older sister. if she can handle stage 3 foods which generally have pieces in them , and those fruit puffs i think she will be safe. Just watch her when you feed her and don't give too big of a piece.

Try tofu, it's soft and hard to choke. She's defanitly ready for solids, just watch her while she's eating them. The 8 month old I nanny for only gets actual baby foods and baby finger foods with me, but with mom and dad she gets, bread, and goldfish, and whatever else (not everything, but a lot) of what they're eating. And she doesn't choke with them. Try canned Vegall, or fruit that you cut up to be bite sized. Canned pears are good, so are canned manderin oranges that you cut in half. Boiled veggies cut small work fine. Basically avoid grapes and hot dogs at all cost, those are the biggest choking hazards.

Generally babies should be about 4 months before starting any form of solid foods.. If you are worried about her choking, do not give her anything that needs alot to disolve it (like uncooked vegtables, hard foods, etc).

If she is doing real well with eating then you can try and intoduce more solids. Like real soft noodles, butter cookies, cut up banana, pieces of meat, ect. My son is 9 months with 2 teeth and he does real well with solids. I mean I dont give him anything too hard. Just the more softer solids. If that makes sense.

To me solids is all the stuff you mentioned. So if you mean more adult like foods, wait until she has some teeth.

I'd wait until she's got about four teeth..
Nine months, about.
Consult a pediatrician just to double-check.

"It just scares me she might choke." That's why you have to pay attention when a baby is eating ANYTHING.
