Quebec City is very nice, as is Montreal. Visit or stay at the Chateau Frontenac - it's beautiful - you won't regret it. In Quebec City, you can travel through the old part of town where cobble streets still exist and painters paint on the corner. It's our little piece of France. Have a good time if you come!

Quebec is a beautiful province. Montreal has quite the night life and Quebec City is gorgeous. I highly recommend checking out Old Quebec (the older part of the city). Architecture is fantastic there and I have never had a bad time while visiting. Bon Voyage!

I was born in Montreal, and raised near Mont Tremblant and then moved back to Montreal to come to college. (It's called CEGEP here) I stayed here In a little town off the island of Montreal) because I met my husband and we settled here.

If you like the city thing (I don't, I'm a country girl at heart.) Montreal is a great city with lots of awesome museums (My favorite is the contemporary museum of art.) and for sure a LOT of shopping. However, I have to disagree with those European comments: Unless you are walking around the beautiful cobblestone streets of the Old Port, the main part of MTL is pretty raunchy. Especially down town on St-Catherine Street. Which reminds me, if you like to go out and eat at a buffet where there are completely naked strippers girating against you and each other while you're trying to stomach your food, Montreal: also the place for those types. (Club Super Sexe across the street from Paramount cineplex on St-Catherine Street.)

I'd recommend going to Mont Tremblant especially if you are a skiier or snowboarder! If not, it's just a beautiful spot to shop, sightsee (great Canadian outsoors!!!) and party and relax (Scandanavian Spa!)

As for french people; please remember that there are bilingual people (IE: me!!) and that The majority of people in the service industry: (Hotels, restaurants, compleses, stores, etc, etc.) Have to be bilingual to be hired. We get a lot of tourists from the states who are english. I have French in my family tree, but I spoke English at home growing up. And went to an english high school (Secondary School)

If You're planning on vacationing here, hope you have fun in my neck of the woods!!!!!

Very nice and it does feel like it is you are in Europe. However it still has a sense of uniqueness about it. I enjoyed my stay in Quebec very much, such a pretty city.

I went to Quebec once. The people were really nice. I thought they'd all be snooty and wannabe french people. I went and saw the Expos play before they moved to DC. A funny story. at the game I was in line for beer. The people in front of me spoke only spanish. Me and my stupid friends only speak american. (English, but not always correct) and the people behind us spoke french. the girl at the concession stand was able to speak to all of us in our languages. She was way too talented to sell beer at Olympic Stadium.
