go to www.virtualtourist.com and you can talk to all the locals there. There is info about everything going at the time as well.

I wouldnt recomend it I just read in the paper that violence is terrible right now. I lived there pre katrina and it was still kinda shady depending on what neighborhood you wander into. But if you do decide to go in the spring log onto nola.com and find out if theyre having jazzfest this year. that would be the time to go.

I'm sure it's fine, just make sure you do your research first about how the city is doing economically, crime-wise, and all that. Find out if there are any parts of the city that you should not venture into or are still off limits. Good luck!

I would say yes but make sure your not close to a body of water because with all the storms they have up there, it might start a tsunami like katrina did.
