I have to do a project and I want to make sure I have everything right. Is this the correct order of events forDimsdale?: (also if something is wrong or can be added, please do)
1.Reverend Arthur Dimsdale is unaffected by Pearl and Hester. He doesn’t seem to pay them any particular attention and it does not bother him.

2.Dimsdale defends Hester at the governor’s mansion and persuades others to allow Hester to keep Pearl.

3.Dimsdale starts to deliver powerful sermons to his congregation. He is confessing to sins, but the congregation sees it as a “figure of speech” and doesn’t think he is the one that has sinned.

4.Dimsdale begins torturing himself because the sin is starting to get to him and he is taking it out on himself.

5.Dimsdale, Hester, and Pearl meet on the scaffold. Once the three of them hold hands, the letter “A” appears in the sky

6.Hester and Dimsdale meet in the forest.

7.Dimsdale’s sins finally catch up to him and he dies in Hester’s hands on the scaffold

When Dimmesdale sees Hester and baby Pearl on the scafold he puts his hand over his heart indicating that he does feel horrible about the sin he committed. He suffers through out the entire book up until Chapter 16 when Hester and him decide to run away together. He wants to confess his sin but does not have the will to do so. He stands on the scafold on the night if the Winthrops death and screams hoping the townspeople will catch him but they don't wake up. He suffers through the book when ever he sees Pearl, knowing its his daugther, and Hester wearing the scarlet letter. He places his hand over his heart as thought he too wears the scarlet letter for his sin. Plus he does know that he's sinned but does not admit it to anyone, especially to Chillingworth. (sry 4 misspelled words & other errors, if u have any ?'s e-mail me- i'm also reading this book for English class *smile* plz no rude or flame replys)
