Birthdays are close to constantly disappointing I believe. I blame the compelled merriment, it is like christmas you consider you HAVE to be having a well time, good you do not =) Just wait til you flip 18 =P That is honestly a well birthday cos it is valued at celebrating! Oh and Happy Birthday x

I would say its because we spend the entire year expecting our birthday to be more exciting then any other day of the year. We also expect to be treated better by our friends and family and to feel special. The reality is that people can't revolve their entire day around the birthday boy/girl (which sucks I know!). We feel sad because it just turns out to be like any other day and we feel disappointed that no one acknowledges it as being more special.

First of all Happy Birthday...today should be one of your happinest days...it may be the fear of growing up, and having to deal with responsiblites that adults have to deal with everyday, but you have to remember that as you get older, you will be strong enough to deal with issues that come your way..

What I do every year on my birthday is buy myself something that i really wanted all year, save up for it before hand if expensive,

Set goals for the next year or 5 years,

YOU HAVE A GREAT FUTURE AHEAD OF YOU!!!!!!

LOTs of great things to look forward too,

you will succeed believe me!!!!!!!!!

Good luck and happy birthday once again...

It's probably the same reason why I was upset all the time during those years. You're lonley, you're getting older, turning into an adult, you want to grow up but then again you don't. It has to do we being mortal and over thinking things without realizing it.

Probably because now that you're older you're starting to have to cope with more drama and stress, especially responsabilities...which suck. But that's what I know from personal experience.
