The original Exorcist is both scary and horrifying.

The Amityville Horror, hands down! The movie is based on a true story, and the events that took place in the movie weren't very overly dramatized. It gives me shivers just to think of it!

Texas Chainsasw Massacre (the original) still scares the hell out of me.

Oh, and the Amityville Horror haunting ended up being a hoax, though James Brolin's beard in that is pretty terrifying. :)

halloween hands down. ive been watching that movie for 10 years now and i still turn my head at certain parts in the movie. the music scares me speechless and i always look over my shoulder when it is dark in my house, expecting someone with a scary mask like that to attack me

Who can ever forget the twins standing in the alley ...
The blood on the walls. The creepiness and loneliness it left us
after the movie. I watch the movie as a child and till now it creep me up.

Alien made in 1979 is dark and claustrophobic. It has the best movie monster ever and is a great sci-fi movie too. In space no one can hear you scream.
