There is no real normal for a first period. Some people go straight into a heavy bleed, some people have flooding, some have a brownish discharge and some people have the sort of experience you are describing. You have almost definitely had your first period but you may not have your next one for months or you may have it again in a week or two. It can take a number of years for your period to settle down and become regular and for some women it never does. For the first little while I suggest you take some pads with you -these are better used at this early stage- where every you go. Don't worry about it too much and just do whatever you need to do to make yourself comfortable when your period arrives. You may be lucky you may only get lite periods.

My first one was only a few spots. We weren't even sure I had gotten it, but we celebrated anyways. And then I knew I really had gotten it when I got it the second time about 6 wks later.
Don't worry about yours at all. They def get heavier, esp after you give birth, my mother tells me. And they are always mixed with discharge because discharge is always happening.
Don't stress--it took mine two years to regularize.

yes. mine was very simular. it only lasted one day, and the next month, i did not have one at all, then the next month was the same with only pinkish with the discharge. your body is adjusting to you becoming a women! its normal. but if you have any concerns, call a gyn and they will be happy to answer any questions you have about your period.
