My Dad has offered me a deal because i am unhappy at school. Go live on South Padre Island and find a couple jobs and stay there for a year so that i can get instate tuition for Texas Tech University or stay in school and then transfer to TTU at the end of the year? He won't be cutting me off or anything like that, he just wants me to have fun. i would be down there during spring break and the summer and stuff like that.

If you're unhappy at school, just go to the Island. You'll have fun and get instate tuition- sounds like win-win to me!

That is such a tough call. Go with the one that will cost you less.

In my opinion, going to school will cost you less (assuming the time=money rule, where in this case, money is in the long term).

But then again, you could just go frolic and go wild and get a job and forget the fundamentals you need for college. Taking a break is fun, but a break from school is a break, and you will have a tough time adjusting back to school life.

Go to school is what I'll do, with a very sad look on my face, wondering what could have been.

GL! :)

I'd take the first option. You'd make some spending cash for school and get to familiarize more with the surroundings down there.. and since you won't be in school yet, if you discover you hate it there, you can just move back home.

Your Dad sounds awesome! Does he want to adopt me?
