yes. it's because of a symbiote(think that's the spelling) that tries to take over him.

Yes. Peter will accidentally come upon a symbiotic goo that melds into his body chemistry, enhancing his already incredible abilities. Unfortunately, it begins to feed off of his anger and it makes him do things he would not normally do. He starts hurting people. The suit wants to control him completely, and Peter must sever his connection with the suit or become permanently consumed by it.

it doesnt turn black...............his alterego "venom" is introduced and he has internal conflict.............
