In what ways is intelligence better than motivation? Supply and support answer with facts and/or instances.?

This sounds like homework to me. but I will help with a reply.

In my not so humble opinion, intelligence w/o motivation is useless. Intelligence has no other purpose than to be put into use somehow. Intelligence is more important because w/o it, your motivation is likely to be misguided without it.

Examples are numerous on these sites. There are numerous well intentioned people giving advice that is all wet & could be harmful if followed.There are others who intentionaly mislead. Someone like yourself needs to have intelligence & logic to separate the good stuff from the swill. Sometimes that takes further research, which takes smarts.

One step further. Intelligence w/o wisdom is harmful also. One little piece of wisdom those of us with above average intelligence tend to ignore, is everyone, without fail, knows far less than we think we do. The wisdom comes in when we open our minds to question our own beliefs.

I believe that neither is better than the other. If you lack motivation, you will get nowhere with your intelligence. If you lack intelligence, your motivation will not be put to good use.

I had a few friends back in high school who were insanely intelligent. One in particular could have been valedictorian had he/she tried.

I've also had several friends who wanted to change the world and had a strong work ethic, but lacked the intelligence to accomplish much.

Either one without the other is a worthless as having neither.

Without intelligence motivation would never be put to good use. Someone with the ability to be the smartest person would do nothing without motivation. But the most motivated person could achieve anything...the human mind is fascinating and I believe capable of anything.

Intelligence is NOTHING!!! if you are not motivated to use it! A person about to marry into my family is BRILLIANT! but is not employed, spending time contracted to create webpages. BRILLIANT mind! VERY HIGH IQ! Wasted!
