When you stand in front of the tub as you would approach it if it was installed in your bathroom, is the drain closer to your left hand or your right hand? If left then tub is LEFT handed otherwise RIGHT handed.

When you are standing in the tub facing the drain, the side the tub "skirt" (the part of the tub that touches the floor) is on determines whether it is right or left hand.

looking at the tub area from the door, a left hand tub will have the plumbing on the left. Got it?

Stand facing the tub, like you're getting in to bathe. If the drain is on the right, it's right handed.

Stand in front of the area in which the tub will go, facing it. Is your plumbing on your right or your left?
That's the tub you will order.

it would depend on the orientation of the controls on it from the front side. Which hand would be primary for you to control it. from the front side.
