okay, for example, if i wanted to send a gift in a box through the postal service, which day should i send it? do they work on weekends? monday is christmas, so i would like to know which day would be a good day to ship it out so it gets to them on time. can somebody suggest something to me?

USPS office are open Monday through Saturday. Window hours vary based upon location. You may want to explore your options by going to USPS.com and clicking residential options, which include carrier pickup, printing out your own postage, etc.

It doesnt really matter what day you send it. Send it as soon as you can so that it gets there on time and just take it to a postoffice and tell them that you want to mail it and ask them what you need to do!
