I laugh, and skip and sparkle at 1am.....my friends think I am mad.
I'm just the same at 4am, but catch me at lunchtime, and you would have more fun at the undertakers.
That's why I work nights, socialise at night, write at night and even go for a walk with the cat at night. (He likes that, and trots alongside me!)
Great thing is, I earn half as much again as those weakling "day persons."
When I was little, my mother could never understand why I always greeted her with a smile when she tip-toed into the room. Truth is, I was wide awake, and I'd been playing with my toys! When I heard her foot-steps, I would plunge back under the bed-covers and PRETEND to be normal.
Something else is a bit strange too. I have fabulous night-vision, and can see black cats on unlit streets. I'm photophobic during the day, and even draw the screen-visor down when its cloudy and raining heavily.
Of course, at weekends, I'm a great party animal, and in bed, utterly exhausting.
Of course, there is a downside to all this, insomuch as I have to very carefully seduce people I fancy in the work-place, because that's the only way I can do that sort of thing in the middle of the night without being arrested.
I think, on the whole, I quite like being nocturnal, and my cat is the happiest cat in the world.

In the winter, yes. During summer I wake up early in the morning and want to be outside all day, but in winter its different. I get wide awake at night time, hungry and active, don't get to sleep till between 2.00am - 6.00am, then don't wake up until between 11.00am and 2.00pm. Its really annoying, because if I have todo anything during the day I'm really tired. I also have a ridiculous appetite - at the moment, I crave macaroni cheese all the time so I'm also getting fat! Same every winter!
I was worse in my teens, completely nocturnal. I'd go to bed at about 8 or 9 in the morning and sleep till teatime, then party all night! Luckily a few of my friends were the same so I had company. Its a strange world, but kinda cool. I used to love going out for walks at 3 or 4 in the morning when no body was about, the world felt like a different place.

Yes, I am and always have been a night owl. I just love the night - not the dark - the peace of it is great. There's no one around to annoy you if you're at home. If you're out then you're with other people who feel like you and you have great craic with them. What's hard about it is having to live a 'daytime' life, too. I am always tired yet I still stay up, night after night . I don't know why.

yeah its odd i work shifts days, a/noons and nights. i find it much easier to work at night, not because the place is devoid of management but i can concentrate more. plus sleeping all day is a gas. on the metabolism thing, i always seem to get real hungry about 11:30 pm. i guess my body clock runs 15 hrs behind everyone elses

I definitely am a night owl...I actually feel more awake and energized after dark...I don't know of any specific on line groups of 'night people' but there are plenty of on line sites where you can find people and you can find them that way through discussion, for example, Myspace.

also, you can understand how the process works by learning more about circadian rhythms:

All my family seem to work at night/early morning. I even studied for my degree whilst working till 4am (pleanty of study time) My farther was the only person who truely hated nights, what a grumpy bugger he was. The rest of us just got on with it.

I am a night person. I sleep at 8am and wake up at 3pm. I seem to think better during night time - do my projects faster and better. I eat when I'm hungry.
