I'm looking to buy a print of "Starry, Starry" night by Van Gogh for my boyfriend. He has wanted this print for a very long time. I have hunted on ebay, amazon, and a few other places looking for the perfect copy. My question is...should I stick to a print? Go with a reproduction? Something made of giclee? And, can I matte a cavas? Thank you for your help!

try art.com, or image concious.com. They should have different sizes of the print. If you want to mat it, you should consider the size. Also you never put mats on a canvas, you would go with a linen liner. Or you could probably buy the print mounted on a hard board that would just hang on the wall with no frame. Really depends on you and your boyfriends taste.

We have a print of that picture, and it really is beautiful. I personally think it looks fine with a nice matting and framing job, but it's all a matter of what you want to spend. A reproduction would be much more expensive, but realisitic. Weigh the pros and cons of your options.

Oh yes, and if you go to any framing place, they should be able to help you with anything and give you plenty of options for framing.
