For those who have played FF XII, I'm curious at what lv most ppl have defeated the Ring Wyrm. I was really annoyed when, at lv 27, I had already defeated all the hunts that were rank 2 or lower. I tried Ring Wyrm at around lv 22 and quickly determined he was too tough too deal with at that time. Well, when I ran out of options I figured I'd try him again regardless. At lv 27 I took him down and it took about and hour and half. Once I figured out the trick on how to do it I'm certain I could have done it the first time I encountered him as well at around lv 22.

Anyway, please post (if you remember) what lv you took him down at....and it should go w/o saying, but please be honest. Also, no flaming please.

To Byakua:
Yes I did the same thing. Since I discovered that all you have to do is hit him w/ a mist charge and then back off. He'll ready a spell but will sit there w/o casting it if you're the right distance from him. Then all you have to do is charge up until you get one character w/ one mist charge and do it all over again. ^_^ It was an insanely long and grueling process though.

Yea, that would have made it A LOT easier for me if I'd gotten Black Hole when I fought him. Unfortunately I only had 1 person w/ 3 mist charges at the time (Ashe) so that was too difficult.

I can't remember for sure, but I think I was in the mid 20s when I took it down.. I just remember it being insanely tough.. I had to string together a whole lot of quickenings to beat it.. I'd use up the mana, charge up, then do some more quickenings and hope for a few mist charges..

He was a toughie! I think I was about level 25. I unleashed some quickenings with my 1st set of characters, and then I just attacked until I had his life at under about 50%, then I brought in my 3 other characters, and repeated (quickening, then attack). Worked like a charm! (also, during this battle, I had my longest quickening chain (19) and the final attack was Black Hole, the strongest. I know that helped!)

well by the time i got to the ring wyrm mark i think i was like lv 30 but i already had bought a nihopalao accessory which i used with penelo to throw a remedy on the wyrm. needless to say after that it wasnt too hard... and vaan was tanking .. and since i had penelo and ashe use a bow from a distance, they were able to counter with esuna whenever sporefall dropped... but all in all the fight took less than 30 mins i believe... and of course i had both casting decoy and protect on vaan who was equppied with the best shield and weapon available at the time(sorry i dont rem which one it was) and he also had a few shield augment licenses so the sporefall actually missed a few times on him which i htought was kool...my favorite tactics with hard marks is either nihopalao+remedy or if they're immune to most status than of course reverse+decoy on tank (vaan or ashe)...tho i admit it sometimes even makes the HARD marks like gilgamesh kinda easy(relatively speaking of course since that gilgamesh mark still took like 45+ mins at lv 50+)... oh btw even tho i have all the quickenings for practically all 6 characters by now, i must say i rarely use them in battles... i only use them when i wanna see the cinema for them lol ... that also goes for espers too ...hmmm btu im still gonna collect all of them of course
