Is this from Karl Popper? It's something like
"No matter wherever you want to go, you have no choice but to start from where you are."
I'm sorry I don't have the notebook with this quote nearby, thus, I may add/delete some words later. This quote implies, I think, logical reasoning in relation to a plan, a problem, a journey, etc. that, over time, needs verifying over and over so that the solution's justified & proved scientifically. Unless one does so, you'd soon in a mess of labyrinth.

It basically means that even if we are physically on top of the globe we are right where we are initially. Even if you have climb the corporate ladder or achieve something beyond yourself but the fact is that you had not gain anything in turns of having all of that.
I'd worked for this company for more than two years, having to repeat everything over and over again and occasionally finding myself exploiting something that might have positively impact on my annual review. Results is results, where I got a promotion from a sales person to Executive, where I still perform the same thing I was doing 2 years ago and salary wise it's still remain unchange. What had I achieve out of this?
Life in reality is a horrible picture to be drawn out.

There are ways in which people try to avoid dealing with their problems/with themselves. Often the best way to do this is thru what is called a "geographical cure". However the problem with a geographical cure is that eventually your problems/ your self will catch up with you. The same is true of people who turn to drugs or alcohol as a means of escape.

I don't know mr.philosophical, but i find no matter where i run to escape a certain person or problem, there that person is but with a different face. and the same problems just different people. I finally realized all things are but reflections of my own spiritual condition. One can't escape oneself. God created all things with such syncronisity it is awesome.

Seems to suggest that no matter where you go in life, the roots of your origin will always remain the same.

You can escape everyone around you. If you hate them or if you're affraid of them. Except yourself...you can't hate yourself, or be affraid of yourself, because...everywhere you go, there you are.
